Carlos Baute was born on the Antillian island of Aruba as the son of Guyanese parents. Even as a boy, he knew that he always wanted to dedicate his life to music. Accompanied by Venezuelan fishermen, he secretly learned his first instrument, the Cuatro, a small rhythm guitar with four strings. Soon he began copying the vocals of his then-pop idol Otis Redding and made a name for himself in Aruba with various bands. At the age of seventeen, he went to Europe. In the Netherlands, he won the Polydor Song Contest, where his title "The World Needs Love" entered the charts. Also in England, his cover version became a hit. Musically, Wally Warning evolved further, learning several instruments and developing his own style of playing bass. Soon after, he played with "Sam and Dave" and blues legend "Lightnin Hopkins". Wally's latest album, "Amartebien" is a universal world message and a journey. Wally unplugged has electrified audiences across Europe and the Caribbean with his acoustic genius. He does not feel committed to any particular category. It is his gift to mix different musical elements.
