DESCRIPTION

Bernhard Hoetger (1874 - 1949) was a sculptor, painter, architect and craftsman - his masterpieces include the design of Böttcherstrasse and the Atlantis House in Bremen. In addition, his work was so varied that it can hardly be summed up in one sentence. Carsten Rocker (Prague Embassy / Hero of the Gladiators) wrote the music for the cinema/feature film documentary by director Gabriele Rose with Moritz Führmann as Bernhard Hoetger and was able to get Stefan Pintev (from the Elbphilharmonie Orchestra) to record the violin and viola. The result is rousing (A Period of Change, Power of Creation.) but also quiet and fragile pieces (Paula.) of great intensity. In addition to numerous illustrations, the CD booklet also contains a foreword by director Gabriele Rose and comments on the music by Carsten Rocker. We hope you enjoy the album.
