Die griechisch-schwedischen Melodic Death Metal-Stars Nightrage melden sich mit 'Abyss Rising' zurück, dem letzten Teil der Album-Trilogie - aus 'The Venomous' (2017) und 'Wolf to Man' (2019) - und ihrer Vision, in der die Menschheit endlich ihre eigene Hölle auf Erden erreicht hat. Inspiriert von Dantes 'Inferno' erforscht das Album die fortlaufende Zerstörung der Welt durch den Menschen, bis sich der Abgrund öffnet und alles verschlingt. Musikalisch hat die Band eine härtere, schnellere und brutalere Herangehensweise gewählt, die zwar immer noch reich an Melodien ist, aber deutlich schwer und aggressiv. Abgemischt und gemastert von Fredrik Nordstrom im Studio Fredman (Architects, In Flames, Opeth) ist 'Abyss Rising' ein beeindruckendes klangliches Meisterwerk.
