Ingrid (Julianne Moore) and Martha (Tilda Swinton) were close friends in their youth when they worked together at the same newspaper. Ingrid later became a writer while Martha became a war correspondent, and they were separated by life circumstances. After years without any contact, they meet again in an extreme, but strangely enough also nice, situation.
