The year is 1918 and the Spanish flu is raging. After several years as a missionary in Madagascar, a priest returns home to his family in Norway to start a congregation. With the help of a local mining company, work begins on building a church, but the site turns out to be an old Southern Sami burial ground. When it is decided that the remains will be dug up, an unidentifiable force begins to haunt the settlers.
