What's the Story? Chapter 1: From a sea of drunken flowers to. What started out as an audio experiment in the early years of this century has turned into a passion for creating unique aural and visual experiences. The members of missing sound have all created and performed music in various., let's say traditional styles before joining forces. What they all had in common though was that they'd reached a point in their respective careers where the excitement of making music was more or less gone. Was it an act of fate that this happened almost at the same time to all future members of the group? Who knows? Maybe history will tell. Anyway, something had to change and the way forward was to break new unfamiliar ground. Experimenting with synthetic voices, out of sync beats and vintage analog synthesizers taking on a life of their own definately led to some surprising and unexpected results. The group realised that it was possible to create exciting new audio experiences that had never been heard before. Also, the lyrical content of the compositions led missing sound in an unexplored direction. This is one of the reasons why the group has decided to stay anonymous for the time being. Letting the missing sound experience stand it's own ground without comparsions to the members previous musical history. Having received quite a bit of surprisingly positive response from the Swedish demoscene and national radio during 2004 missing sound decided it was time to take it to the next level. So. October 28, 2005 saw a limited release of the debut album from the group and their first video for the album opening track 'The Hummer'. The album is released on their own amse label. The album picks up some very positive reviews in the Swedish music press and catches the attention of Jenny Lundblad at Serpentine Music/CDA. A deal is signed and the album is officially released in Sweden 2006. Chapter 2 is being written. Some media reactions: "LITTLE POPSONGS WITH CONTAGIOUS CHORUSES.' Also the vocal parts are both surprisingly innovative and refreshing' (Frontface Magazine) BEST OF 2006 Together with songs from Blackmail (Electricido) and Petter Nordkvist (Some Polyphony) and a few more the missing sound track 'The Day Today' was chosen as the best songs of 2006. The list is the choice Swedish music journalist Per Sinding-Larsen and was presented on Swedish National Television's show Kulturnytt. (SVT2, 061222). MISSING SOUND SETS THE SOUND ON NATIONAL TV The opening titles of Swedish popular science show 'Materians mysterier' ('Mysteries of Matter') features the track 'Kamarov' from the missing sound debut album. (The show is airing in most Scandinavian countries.)
