Searching For Shangri-La

Closing Eyes set their first mark on the Norwegian alternative rock scene more then a decade ago, exploring synth sounds and krautrock elements before evolving into 60's vibes being remixed by club royalties Lindstrøm, Prins Thomas and Emil Nikolaisen from Serena Maneesh. After releasing the second album, "Eternal Fidelity", at the height of the pandemic, the band was left bewildered as to where they should go from there. A feeling they probably share with a lot of bands that felt they threw their solid albums into nothingness as covid ruined possibilities for following up on releases with touring.

After two critically acclaimed albums with a lot of focus on overdubs and studio flickering, they then started to plainly jam. New material came out of the sessions, and everything were recorded live in Studio Paradiso by Markus Forsgren (Jaga Jazzist, The Lionheart Brothers) with as little studio touches post recording s possible. This new, yet very old, method lead the band in a new direction. With a renewed love for their music, and with the band as a more defined creative entity and a gathered creative force, they're set for the release of their third album, "Searching for Shangri-La", this fall. This is heartfelt, organic, open and honest.
