House by the Lake is a pop band based in Bergen, Norway. The band was started as a studio project by lead singer and songwriter Sondre Strandskog Arnesen in 2009. Woodlands is House by the Lakes first full-length studio album. The album was recorded in Lydriket and Klangkollektivet studios in Bergen, Norway. The music is inspired by American and British folk. The band is compared to artists such as Fleet Foxes, Iron and Wine, Midlake, Phoenix og Bon Iver.
