You Must Believe in Spring

An underrated gem from Karin Krog's discography, remastered on 180g LP by Jan Erik Kongshaug in Rainbow Studio. These six excellent settings of songs by Michel Legrand were recorded by Karin Korg in May 1974. The arrangements were the work of trumpeter Palle Mikkelborg. The immediate sense one gets from the album is of both singer and arranger trying out ways in which to escape from the established conventions of jazz vocal albums, and simultaneously aiming to incorporate some of the filmic qualities in Legrand's writing.
