Alive and Kicking

Alive & Kicking is a lively romance between unlikely lovers--Tonio (Jason Flemyng), a narcissistic dancer pushing his body to artistic perfection, and Jack (Antony Sher), a therapist whose mind is mover agile than his body. This mismatched pair stumble along the rocky path of commitment in a poignant, often hilarious, always believable portrayal of gay courtship in the new "Swinging London."

Alive & Kicking is the first screenplay by noted playwright Martin Sherman ("Bent") and the second feature to be directed by Nancy Meckler whose debut film Sister My Sister won critical acclaim around the world.



SynopsisA passionately committed young dancer is forced to re-examine his career and life when faced with death, finding hope through an older man who becomes his lover, mentor and companion.

A powerful and often comic English film which tells the story of Tonio, an attractive and accomplished young dancer who loses his lover to AIDS. When he discovers he has the disease himself, he goes to see a therapist, who is himself angry and alcoholic. Patient and therapist then embark on an affair, helping each other cope with life's difficulties.
