Volevo Essere Un Punk indaga e scava nella realtà e nella nascita della scena punk rock romana partendo dai lontani anni Settanta fino ad arrivare ai giorni nostri. E' un’opera che cerca di dare spazio e risalto a una scena musicale che è prettamente underground, e che di conseguenza è poco o niente conosciuta dalla grande massa o dal medio pubblico consumatore abituale di musica, che usufruisce della più nota musica pop convenzionata e sponsorizzata da circuiti ben più noti, ricchi e pubblicizzati.
