Carmen, een van de populairste opera's ooit, gaat over een sterke en trotse vrouw, geregeerd door haar eigen wet. Op haar nieuwe album neemt de iconische jazzpianiste Aki Takase deze onconventionele figuur als thema en bestempelt haar interpretatie van Carmen als een rapsodie.
