Sacri Cuori is a collaboration of Italian musicians with John Convertino and Jakob Valenzuela of Calexico, Howe Gelb, Thoger Lund and Massimo Sbaragli. Translated as Sacred Hearts, the ensemble is led by two Italians: guitarist/composer Antonio Gramentieri and the percussionist/drummer Diego Sapignoli. Both are from the verdant hills of Emilia Romagna, not far from the hometowns of both Fellini and Mussolini. Light and dark.
