Arcangelo Corellis Violinsonaten Op.5 waren im 18. Jahrhundert ein Verkaufsschlager (42 Neuauflagen bis 1800!). Die erste Folge der Einspielung durch Enrico Onofri und dem Imaginarium Ensemble wurde von der Kritik als neue Referenzeinspielung gefeiert. Mit der nicht minder beispielhaften zweiten Folge ist die Gesamteinspielung dieses einflussreichen Triumphs der barocken Solo-Sonate abgeschlossen.
