Die 70er-Jahre-Residents auf (noch mehr) Speed? Durchgedrehter Art Rock? Julian Cope als Transsexueller? Alice im Wunderland? Unglaublicher Typ, dieser Basil alias Juantrip. Franzose, Kind von Hippie-Eltern, veröffentlicht auf F-Communications. Und macht Musik, wie man sie so noch nie zuvor gehört hat. Bereits im Booklet stellt Juantrip die Welt auf den Kopf. Mischt alles mit allem, dreht alles um. Hauptzutat ist Psychedelic, dazu vocoderte Vocals, schräge Elektroniksounds, verdrehte Streicher. Das alles so versponnen-charmant arrangiert, so außerordentlich sonderbar, daß einem die Spucke wegbleibt. Passend zum Album auch die Website - übrigens die wohl beste, die ich jemals angeklickt habe: interaktiv ansteuerbare Psychedelikmotive, ein Flugsimulator, ein Plattenspieler mit Loops des Franzosen und und und. Klasse gestaltet, höchst unterhaltsam. Beides zusammen: großartig!
