Dan San, one of the most representatives of Belgian indie folk, is back with an organic and atmospheric second: Shelter. After two years of silence and, working on side projects (The Feather, Yew, Pale Grey), Dan San meets at mythic studio “La Frette” in Paris (Feist, Timber Timbre, Patrick Watson), and then finish recording in Greenhouse Studio Beaumont, Belgium. With Yann Arnaud (Air, Phoenix, Syd Matters), as the producer, the musicians experiment new working methods. From now on, track-by-track recording is over, Yann wants to capture the emotion and the essence of their music live. The multiinstrumentalist Olivier Marguerit joins the band and sheds a new light on the tracks by opening them to synthetic sonorities.

Dan San, l’un des principaux représentants de l’indie folk belge, est de retour avec un deuxième album astral, organique et atmosphérique : Shelter. Après une pause de deux années parsemées de « side projects » (The Feather, Yew, Pale Grey), le groupe se retrouve au célèbre studio La Frette de Paris (Feist, Timber Timbre, Patrick Watson), pour ensuite terminer l’enregistrement au greenHouse Studio de Beaumont, en Belgique, dans un coin coupé du monde. Avec Yann Arnaud (Air, Phoenix, Syd Matters) à la réalisation, le groupe expérimente des méthodes de travail inédites : fini l’enregistrement piste par piste, c’est en live que Yann veut capter l’émotion et l’essence de leur musique. Le multi-instrumentiste Olivier Marguerit se joint au groupe et donne une nouvelle lumière aux morceaux en les ouvrant à des sonorités synthétiques. Il en résulte un album abouti et adulte dont les compositions sont sensibles authentiques et enivrantes.
