Wanneer haar broertje Charlie (Gabriel Bateman) plots verdwijnt in het magische PLAYMOBIL-universum, begint Marla (Anya Taylor Joy) halsoverkop een gevaarlijke zoektocht naar hem. Dit avontuur leidt haar naar fantastische, nieuwe werelden en wel héél verrassende vrienden, zoals de gladde vrachtwagenchauffeur Del (Jim Gaffigan), de charmante geheime agent Rex Dasher (Daniel Radcliffe), een schattige robot en een extravagante fee (Megan Trainor).
