The guitar-driven power-pop of the LA resident brothers' debut album Evan and Jaron comes with a large dose of heart break, relationship re-evaluating and inevitable happy endings. It's therefore fitting that brothers Evan and Jaron Lowenstein first broke the US charts after their single "Crazy For This Girl" was featured on the emotion-obsessed US cult teen TV drama Dawson's Creek. From the soft centred sentiments of "The Distance" with its "I can't take a breath without saying your name" and "From My Head To My Heart"'s up-lifting chorus of "From my head to my heart / can't seem to find a way / they're so far part" it's safe to say the brothers are in touch with their sensitive sides. It's teen turmoil through and through, but add in some larger than life feel-good choruses and wholesome middle of the road pop/rock and the sing-along likes of "On The Bus", "Make It Better" and "Ready Or Not" are far catchier than the average US radio hit. --Dan Gennoe
