Für ihr Debütalbum haben der irische Geiger Patrick Rafter und der Pianist Fiachra Garvey Repertoire von belgischen und französischen Komponisten ausgewählt, darunter zwei große Violinsonaten - Ravels berühmtes G-Dur-Werk und die fabelhafte, aber vernachlässigte G-Dur-Sonate von Guillaume Lekeu, dessen tragisch früher Tod im Alter von 24 Jahren uns sicherlich eines großen Komponisten beraubt hat. Das selten zu hörende Poeme Elegiaque des großen belgischen Geigers und Komponisten Ysaye und das Nocturne von Lili Boulanger (die im Alter von nur 22 Jahren starb) runden dieses spannende Recital ab. Patrick Rafter ist bereits mit Maxim Vengerov und Schlomo Mintz, Barry Douglas und John O'Conor, Semyon Bychkov, Sir Mark Elder, Marin Alsop und Gianandrea Noseda aufgetreten.
