Product Description The Hornby RailRoad GWR Mk3 First Class Open Coach is a beautifully detailed OO Gauge model rendered in the iconic Great Western Railway green livery with gold trim. Produced at 1:76 scale and measuring 30 x 3.5 x 5.2 cm, this replica faithfully captures the elegant lines of the full-size Mk3 coach. British Rail introduced the Mk3 in 1975, designed and built by BREL to offer superior passenger comfort. At 75ft (23m) in length, the Mk3 was ten feet longer than its predecessor and featured monocoque, all-welded mild steel construction. Originally locomotive-hauled, the Mk3 was later adapted for use with the High Speed Train at speeds of up to 125mph. GWR-liveried Mk3 coaches operated in full-length HST sets and, from 2019, as part of four-coach 'Castle' sets. This model features a Wide Tension Lock coupling and requires a minimum curve radius of 2mm, making it a superb addition to any OO Gauge layout.
