• Lima, Lavorazione Italiana Metalli e Affini was founded in Vicenza in 1946 and immediately distinguished itself for the production of metal toys. Over the years Lima has become a world leader in the production of railway models in H0 scale (1:87), N scale (1:160) and 00 scale (1:76).

The diesel railcars ALn 668 had a remarkable success not only by the FS, but also among the Italian private railways, that bought several units directly derived from the model built for the FS. The FER (Ferrovie Emilia Romagna), created in 2001 after the fusion of four former railway companies of the region, owns some ALn 668 railcars, 6 of which are built on the base of the 1000/1900 series of the FS, and in occasion of the overhauls they received the new and striking new company livery based on white, green and red colours.
