Emily Lloyd gives a breakthrough performance as Lynda, a tearaway 16-year-old who lives with her hairdresser father and her "boring bloody sister" on the English South Coast in the early 1950s. Starved of affection since the death of her mother, Lynda soon learns that she can attract the attention she so desperately needs by shocking those around her.
