Mika is thrilled to be back at her grandmothers stable for yet another summer vacation spent in the company of her beloved horse Windstorm! But the Kaltenbach stable faces great financial distress and Mika reluctantly offers her help by participating in high-paying tournaments.

Windstorm is strangely distracted during training sessions and flees into the woods. Mika founds out why: Windstorm is in love! A grey mare, belonging to a boy named Milan, escaped to the forest to fool around with Windstorm.

Milan pretends he can help Mika win the tournament. In return, she must help him capture his mare. Who is that strange boy? Can Mika and Windstorm focus on winning the tournament and save Kaltenbach in time?
