Released in 1963 on the Beverley's label, 'Judge Not!' b/w 'Do You Still Love Me?' gave the teenage Marley his debut hit thanks to the A-side's jaunty melodies and catchy ska beat while the lyrics - borrowed from Margie Bowes' 1960 C&W release - made him sound wise beyond his years. The appeal of 'Judge Not!', together with that of the whimsical, yet upbeat song on the flipside - again resulting from that first historic recording session - is just as timeless and immediate today as it was 60 years ago.
