THE HUBBELS
Have you ever heard “Hippy Dippy Funky Monkey Double Bubble Sitar Man?” It's a hit record that's familiar to "Top Forty" radio stations across the country, performed by the fast-moving, talented duo known as The Hubbels. Comprising Mary Ann Frazell, 21, and Bob Hubbel, 22, this couple brings a unique blend of talent and creativity to their music.

Bob, who writes lyrics and music, sings and plays guitar, and Mary Ann, whose voice complements Bob's, first sang together on "Misty Morning." Their informal singing sessions for friends sparked the idea for them to work together professionally. Both skilled musicians, Mary Ann and Bob met at Wittenberg University’s School of Music in 1966.

The couple toured South America with the Wittenberg Choir, performing in Colombia, Ecuador, Chile, Argentina, Peru, Uruguay, and Puerto Rico. Bob also served as the musical director for the choir’s "hootenanny" section. Their tour along the Eastern Seaboard concluded at Town Hall in New York City.

Known for their spontaneous style, which is marked by informality, The Hubbels embody the spirit of musical innovation. Mary Ann, known for her love of fashion—especially the "Gypsy Look," is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Frazell of Dayton, Ohio; Bob is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Graham Hubbel of Tarrytown, New York.
