Night of the Comet

It's going to be to be a hell of a show: a huge comet is passing Earth. But young Reggie Belmont (Catherine Mary Stewart - The Last Starfighter) misses the fireworks to be with her boyfriend. When she wakes up, however, the whole world is changed: the people that haven't been turned into red dust have become zombies. With the help of fellow survivors, including her sister Sam (Kelli Maroney, The Zero Boys) and trucker Hector (Robert Beltran, Eating Raoul), she searches for signs of life - but after the end of civilisation, not everyone they encounter is to be trusted. A gloriously entertaining mashup of 1950s Atom Age sci-fi and 1980s teen movies, Night of the Comet proves that the apocalypse doesn't have to be a bummer.
