The Children of Huang Shi

Jonathan Rhys Meyers stars in this drama directed by Roger Spottiswoode. In 1938, British journalist George Hogg (Rhys Meyers) travels to Nanjing, China and begins documenting the brutal reality of life under Japanese occupation. When he is captured by Japanese forces, he is saved from execution by Chen Hansheng (Chow Yun-fat), a Chinese resistance fighter, and is sent to hide out at an orphanage which is home to 56 young boys. He helps to care for the children and when they are in danger of being forced to join the fight, Hogg leads them on a long and dangerous journey through the mountains in search of safe haven. The cast also includes Radha Mitchell and Michelle Yeoh.
