The Jealous God

British drama based on the novel by John Braine and set in 1960s Yorkshire. Reserved Catholic school teacher Vincent Dungarvan (Jason Merrells) battles against his overbearing mother's demands that he enter the priesthood. Isolated and lonely, when he begins an illicit affair with Laura (Mairead Carty), a Protestant librarian, his repressed emotions come to the fore in a devastating conclusion.
