Ayse and her secret lover are caught in the act by her husband’s relatives. When they decide to kill her for the family’s honour, Ayse has to run for survival. Chased by cops and murderous family members, she tries to make it to her sister in Istanbul, in the anonymity of the big city. With no sympathy from her own family and friends, not from a hostile society, Ayse has no-one to rely on but herself. Emre Akay’s brutal survival thriller pits one woman against her family and against her country’s moral attitudes and misogynist impulses.
