'Energy Islands' The highly anticipated third studio album from acclaimed folk quartet, FARA. "Energy Islands is inspired by the renewable energy innovation taking place in our homeland of Orkney. Having been born and raised among its breathtaking natural beauty, we wanted to highlight Orkney's role in raising awareness of, and curbing, the climate crisis. The European Marine Energy Centre has been in Orkney since 2003 and due to the islands' advantageous climatic conditions, Orkney has become a key area for the advancement in technologies harnessing green energy through tides, waves and wind. Orkney's natural resources provide an invaluable contribution to the global effort to protect the fragilities of our planet. To us, this feels like a physical manifestation of the energy that traditional music brings to our communities.
