Locked in overnight at prisons, castles, inns, ruins and remote hideaways, the pair attempt to make it from dusk till dawn while testing paranormal gadgets, hearing grim local histories and trying not to completely terrify each other. The ghost-hunting premise gives the series its eerie atmosphere, but the real magic is the Coopers' sibling chemistry: the bickering, teasing, reminiscing and occasional sincerity that made This Country fans fall for them in the first place.
