Leopold Stokowski’s eminence as one of the truly great conductors of the 20th century in a career spanning six decades is exemplified in this second 6-CD set featuring live BBC performances of many of the works he performed in concert during his final years. While the best-selling Volume 1 contained titles that had previously been issued, the present Volume includes eight new BBC broadcasts not officially released before, as well as 3 CDs from the BBC Legends series but here newly remastered by Paul Baily to reflect how Stokowski wanted his recordings to sound.
