Diese neue Veröffentlichung des renommierten Quartetto di Cremona bietet einen faszinierenden und mehrdimensionalen Zugang zu J.S. Bachs Kunst der Fuge, mit innovativen Ansätzen zur Instrumentierung, die eine neue Interpretation des bahnbrechenden Werks des Barockmeisters schaffen. Die Gruppe ersetzt die zweite Violine teilweise durch eine Bratsche und eine Tenorbratsche durch ein Standardinstrument. An anderer Stelle übernimmt der Bratschist die Blockflöte, so dass nicht weniger als acht Instrumente auf der Bühne stehen, was dem Werk einen bahnbrechenden choreografischen Charakter verleiht, ohne dass der ursprüngliche Text verloren geht. Seit seiner Gründung im Jahr 2000 hat sich das Quartetto di Cremona einen Ruf als eines der aufregendsten Kammermusikensembles auf der internationalen Bühne erworben. Es wird regelmäßig zu großen Musikfestivals und Konzerthallen in Europa, Nord- und Südamerika sowie im Fernen Osten eingeladen und hat in fast einem Vierteljahrhundert seines Bestehens außergewöhnliche Erfolge erzielt.
