Drawing from the work of artists including Bob Dylan, Bruce Springsteen, Nick Drake, Randy Newman and Tim Buckley, the collection highlights Gray's gift for finding new shades of emotion within familiar songs. Performed with sparse arrangements centred on voice, piano and acoustic guitar, these recordings favour intimacy over reinvention. Whether tackling Springsteen's 'Streets of Philadelphia', Dylan's 'To Ramona' or Newman's 'I Think It's Going to Rain Today', Gray brings a quiet, reflective quality that makes each song feel naturally at home in his repertoire.
