Die Aufnahmen wurden zwischen den beiden Auftritten der Band beim Coachella Festival am 18. April live bei einer Radiosession von KCRW in den Apogee Studios in Los Angeles von Bob Clearmountain aufgenommen und live als KCRW Radio Session ausgestrahlt. "Live from KCRW" erscheint als CD, digitaler Download und Doppel-Vinyl-Album. Die Vinyl-Version enthält zusätzlich zwei exklusive, nicht ausgestrahlte Songs der Session ("Into my Arms" und "God Is In The House").

Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds erhielten sechs Nominierungen bei den australischen ARIA Awards für "Push The Sky Away": Best Live Act, Album of the Year, Best Group, Best Adult Contemporary Album, Best Independent Release & Best Video (für "Jubilee Street"). Das Album erreichte außerdem Platz 1 der englischen und australischen Charts und Platz 2 der deutschen Albumcharts.
