The Liners - Maiden Voyage

The Liners is a unique series exploring the History of the World s Great Passenger ships, the lines that operated them and the remarkable people they carried.

Maiden Voyage tracks the development of the first ocean going steam powered ships from as early as 1815 all the way through to some of the Blue Riband winning record breakers such as the Mauretania & the Lusitania. The establishment of P & O and Cunard shipping companies along with building of the Suez canal made the world a smaller place and increased the destinations that visitors could travel to. The Titanic is also covered here and interviews 110 year Kfar Michi who was set to board the vessel to start a new life in Canada along with 13 other friend but changed his plans at the last minute. The other 13 boarded the vessel in Cherbourg and the rest is history.
