Orson Welles (Citizen Kane/ Third Man) stars as Captain Hart in this sea-bound adventure. He is forced to accept Mark Conrad (Curt Jurgens), a drunken playboy deportee of the Hong Kong government, who then wins the right to live on the ship in a card game. As the debonair and easy going Conrad Catches the eye of a glamorous school teacher Liz Ferrers (Sylvia Syms) the stage is set for a battle of wills. As the ship and crew face pirates, typhoons, and shipwrecks the two fight for control of the ship and their lives in this all-star action adventure.
