Sybil (Mary McDonnell) is a wealthy Californian career woman who opts for reconstructive surgery following cancer, while Kathleen (Gail O'Grady) is an ordinary housewife who elects to have silicone implants for cosmetic reasons. Despite their very different backgrounds, both women feel completely betrayed by the medical system, and refuse to back down even when the doctors and multi-million dollar drugs manufacturers are closing ranks against them.
