Engelchen

On 'Engelchen', Sunderland-raised musician Alison Cotton tells the story of Ida and Louise Cook  - a pair of sisters from her home town who used their passion for opera as a means to help refugees to flee Nazi occupied Europe. This remarkable story is told with a mixture of acapella songs or with emotive string pieces by the folk and chamber music musician. A remarkable album about two truly courageous people.
