Renowned demonologists Ed and Lorraine Warren (Wilson and Farmiga) think they have finally contained the cursed Annabelle doll when they bring it home, have it blessed by a priest and lock it inside a case made of sacred glass. However, when the couple depart for the night, leaving their ten-year-old daughter Judy (Grace) with babysitter Mary Ellen (Madison Iseman) and her friend Daniela (Katie Sarife), Annabelle's spirit is inadvertently released. As she unleashes other spirits that have been trapped by the Warrens, chaos ensues as the three girls are tormented by the spirits and must fight to contain them once more.
