Cal

Helen Mirren and John Lynch star in this drama adapted by Bernard MacLaverty from his novel of the same name. Cal (Lynch), an out-of-work man in Northern Ireland, becomes involved with the IRA. He acts as the driver during the murder of a police officer and later discovers that Marcella (Mirren), the woman to whom he is attracted, is the widow of the victim. Cal wants to leave the IRA but is unable to find a way out and as he and Marcella begin a relationship, he fears what will happen when the truth comes out.
