Series 1: The comedy icon returns to mark the 25th anniversary of his BBC debut. Due to the sudden illness of its regular host, BBC One show This Time welcomes Alan Partridge as its guest presenter. The show sees Alan handed a career lifeline - the chance to stand in as co-host on a nightly magazine show. His return to primetime television after his 90s chat show Knowing Me, Knowing You was cancelled after a guest was fatally shot on air.

This Time is a heady mix of consumer affairs, current affairs, viewer interaction, highbrow interview and lightweight froth; very much the sweet spots for a man whose broadcasting style has been described as ‘equidistant between chitchat and analysis’.

Joining Alan in the studio is co-presenter Jennie Gresham (Susannah Fielding) and Tweet reader-outer Simon ‘formerly Sidekick Simon’ Denton (Tim Key).

Series 2: The iconic Alan Partridge returns to the big time with a second series of weeknight magazine show This Time. Alan’s run as a primetime co-presenter at the BBC has been going surprisingly well – but all good things must come to an end.

Alan is gripped by fears that his relevance is dwindling, his relationship with his co-host, Jenny, is increasingly fraught, and a behind-the-scenes upheaval is putting his position in jeopardy. Presented ‘as live’, This Time sees Alan straining to juggle a frenzied variety of topics while battling paranoia, unruly guests and very dry skin.
