Sue Johnston stars in this warm-hearted Northern sitcom following the ups and downs of the close-knit Lewis family from Birkenhead. With her husband Ted having recently passed away, kindly matriarch Eileen (Johnston) has discovered a new zest for life after a recent trip to Lapland. But the realities of life back on Merseyside, and in particular the antics of her self-absorbed children and grandchildren, have a habit of frustrating her goals.
