The Great Outdoors

BBC sitcom following the bitter internal politics of a walking club. Walking clubs are normally associated with the quietness and sedateness of weekend rambles in the country, but for the Mid-Bucks Walking Club things rarely run smoothly. This is largely down to the leader of the group, Bob (Mark Heap), whose hopeless vanity and love of command lead them into all sorts of scrapes. When new member Christine (Ruth Jones) begins to evidence leadership skills and to push for a role in upper echelons of the club, she and Bob inevitably clash. The other members of the group, including Bob's close friend Tom (Steve Edge), find themselves caught in the middle as a titanic power struggle gets underway.
