Notierte Musik lässt manchmal Raum für Improvisation, besonders viel im Jazz, weniger in der Zeitgenössischen Musik und kaum in der Klassik. Der Komponist Bruno Letort, ein erfahrener Grenzgänger, entwickelte die Idee, die Improvisation als Quelle zu nehmen, den Spieß sozusagen umzudrehen. Die Regel war einfach: Improvisieren Sie zu einem Metronom, ohne weitere rhythmische oder harmonische Vorgaben. Spielen Sie frei. Ein prominentes Avantgarde-Ensemble, darunter Laurie Anderson, David Krakauer und David Linx, ließ sich auf das Experiment ein. Heraus kam „Black Museum“, auf Improvisationen entstandene Kompositionen und Texte für Solisten und Orchester. Vinyl.
