Dustin Hoffman and Jon Voight star in this iconic drama directed by John Schlesinger. Texan dishwasher Joe Buck (Voight) moves to New York in the hopes of making his fortune as a male prostitute. However, his initial attempts are quickly foiled and the naïve Texan finds himself struggling to adjust to life on the merciless streets of Manhattan. An encounter with street hustler Enrico 'Ratso' Rizzo (Hoffman) leads to an unlikely friendship developing between the pair, but as their bond strengthens their hopes of making it big appear more and more unlikely.
