Orson Welles directs and stars in this classic adaptation of the Shakespearean play. General Othello (Welles) finds himself tricked into believing that his wife Desdemona (Suzanne Cloutier) is having an affair. Daughter of a Venetian aristocrat, Desdemona has become the object of another man's desire. The man, Iago (Micheál MacLiammóir), sets his plan in motion to destroy Othello and win Desdemona for himself. Also included is the 1955 cut of the same film.
