Trilogy of political thrillers written and directed by David Hare. In 'Page Eight' (2011), long-serving MI5 officer Johnny Worricker (Bill Nighy)'s life is thrown into turmoil when his friend and superior, Benedict Baron (Michael Gambon), dies in mysterious circumstances. As well as dealing with the emotional impact of the loss of his friend, Johnny must work out what to do with a top secret file Benedict has bequeathed to him, a file with the potential to rock the very heart of MI5. In 'Turks and Caicos' (2014), Worricker is in hiding on the Turks and Caicos Islands where he meets CIA agent Curtis Pelissier (Christopher Walken) who wants his help investigating a secretive American company. Finally, 'Salting the Battlefield' (2014) finds Worricker and his ex-girlfriend Margot (Helena Bonham Carter) on the run from MI5 in Europe. In an attempt to finally resolve the situation, Worricker returns to Britain to confront Prime Minister Alec Beasley (Ralph Fiennes), but will he finally be able to secure his future and Margot's safety?
