A comanche camp in the middle of Texas's Great Plains: the dainty Mila (Emilia Schüle) is tied to a stake and barely conscious. Blood runs from a head wound over her face. A Comanche warrior pulls his knife and goes to her throat. Will Mila die in the battle for Texas settlerland? The young weaver from Silesia had to watch helplessly how her husband, ringleader, died in her arms during the weaving uprising. After his death, she flees to Texas. To get on the settler's trek, she is to work as a maid with Cecilie (Nadja Uhl) and her husband, Colonel Count Arnim von Hohenberg (Benno Fürmann), the leader of the trek. When Arnim becomes violent against Cecile, Mila rushes to her aid and seriously injures the colonel: the women have to flee and get into captivity of the young Comanchen warrior Buffalo Hump (Wesley French), who takes her hostage to the negotiations with the Texans. While Mila gradually settles in with the Indians and develops more than just sympathy for Buffalo Hump, her friend Cecilie manages to escape the comantes. But back at the trek, she has to watch her husband consolidate his power by all means and does not shy away from murder. When a massacre occurs during the peace negotiations between Comanches and Texans, the Indians swear revenge against all whites: the German settlers are in great danger. There is a threat of a life-and-death battle that only Mila and Cecilia can decide.
