Tijdens een treinreis vertelt Mathieu Faber aan de mensen die bij hem in het compartiment zitten over zijn liefdesaffaire met het kamermeisje Conchita Perez. Toen hij halsoverkop op haar verliefd werd, wees ze zijn avances af en sloeg ze voor hem op de vlucht. Door stom toeval bleven ze elkaar in verschillende Europese steden tegen het lijf lopen, maar steeds bleef hij op zijn seksuele honger zitten. Conchita bleef hem aan het lijntje houden met haar uitdagende gedrag, terwijl ze haar lichaam aan andere mannen schonk.
